Reflections

It is yet another new year; a time when we spend reflecting on the past and try to focus on our future. As I join many people, I reflect on the year that held many disappointments. In 2011 we witnessed many imaginable things: a shooter took lives of innocent people in Arizona,  an earthquake in Japan that took the lives of many, the Royal wedding between Prince William and Royal Duchess Catherine, the slaying of Osama bin Laden, the rebuilding of Tuscaloosa, Alabama when the tornadoes took the lives and livelihood of many people to a soldier in training whose life was cut short. For me, 2011 I have had heart breaks, as well as triumphs. My family and I have went from homeless with very few possessions to having a place full of furniture, clothes, and other necessities. I have learned that I am a better person because of the year 2011, I had hit rock bottom and the only place to go now is up; with the help and support of my husband, I am growing. I am moving on up. I have only two years of college left and I will have earned my Associates degree.

With all that has been witnessed in 2011, I look for better things in 2012. I am very optimistic that this year will be the year that my husband and I will be in the best place that we can be. I have made a few resolutions-the most common one being to lose weight. I also plan on getting out of debt, having more patience with my children and getting all A's in my studies. I also have made many friends in 2011, and hope to continue to make more in 2012. So, to the year 2011, I bid a due. I have grown because of you, but now you're gone and I have still have many things to learn in 2012.
